Reamer is also called reamer reaming bit. It is different from the reamer bit installed in the lower part of the drill string, but it is installed in the middle of the drill string, and its diameter is slightly larger than that of the bit. When the lower bit is drilling, the upper reamer reams and trims the wellbore at the same time.
The reamer is generally used to drill in the formation which is easy to deviate and shrink. When drilling with diamond bit, two or three diamond reamers must be installed in the middle of the drill string to prevent hole diameter reduction caused by bit wear and ensure that the new bit can run into the bottom hole smoothly.
